You don’t check in at The Douglas so much as move in for a few days. Coffee in the Parlor, a breakfast good enough to plan a morning around, cocktails in The Bar by evening. Nobody will hurry you through any of it. The squares are a block away when you want them, and easy to forget when you don’t.
Reasons to come down from your room.
The Parlor
The Parlor is the soul of the hotel, a place to truly settle in, not just pass through. Curl up in a velvet chair, catch up on work if you must, or simply watch the afternoon stretch into evening with a glass in hand. It feels like coming home, but with every thoughtful detail in place.
No one’s obliged to make conversation.

In-Room Spa
At The Douglas, we’ve partnered with a trusted local mobile spa to offer a selection of in-room treatments, available by appointment and tailored entirely to you. Services are available in the privacy of your room and are conducted by licensed professionals who bring everything needed to create a serene, spa-like experience without leaving the comfort of your room.
Massages are available in a range of styles, from heated stone to prenatal, from sports recovery to classic relaxation. We recommend reserving your treatment at least 72 hours in advance, though same-day bookings may be available depending on schedule. Pricing varies by duration and treatment type. Put on a robe, stay in the room. We’ll handle the rest.

Dinner’s next door, one building over.
Lester’s is right next door, its own building and its own door on the street. A French-leaning raw bar from the same kitchen, run by Chef Jacques Larson: oysters, shellfish, the day’s catch, and a wine wall to work through. The restaurant is walk-up only, but guests of The Douglas can secure a table through the front desk.

Front Desk & Concierge
Our front desk and concierge are here for anything you need, anytime — from last-minute dinner bookings to a bottle of bubbles waiting in your room.
The house, at a glance.
A few rooms, a few corners, and the light that moves through them over a day. Come see the rest in person.

Getting here is the easy part.
The house sits at 14 East Oglethorpe Avenue. Chippewa Square is a short walk down the avenue; Forsyth Park, City Market, the Telfair Academy, the Jepsen Center, and the river are all on foot from the door. For anything farther, borrow a house bike at the front desk.
Fly into Savannah/Hilton Head International (SAV), about 11 miles and roughly 24 minutes from the door, or Hilton Head’s own airport if the fares favor it, then head for the historic district. Once your bags are down, retire the car, the district was drawn for walkers in 1733 and hasn’t changed its mind. The bikes cover whatever your feet won’t. Call the desk and we’ll sort parking and directions before you land.
